You can get corn skewers pretty much anywhere you buy other kitchen utensils, especially in the summer time, when they are obviously going to be used the most. This barbecue and camping season, make sure that you have plenty of skewers to go around for everyone. You can usually get them in packages of four, so you only need a few inexpensive packages to make sure that there are plenty of skewers for a fun corn boil.
Kids Love Them
Because you can get corn skewers in a variety of designs, kids love them, and they love eating with them. This is going to be a big help to you, because without them, eating corn can be quite messy, especially when there are kids doing the eating. You can help to eliminate at least some of the mess by making sure that there are skewers on every ear of corn that your kids eat. Get some cute skewers with cartoon characters or well-known mascots on them (which are often given away as promotional items), and your kids will love using them. These skewers are not much more expensive than the regular old ones that look like ears of corn, so why not get a few sets to have around for the kids.
Skewers Don’t Take Up Much Space
Unlike other eating utensils, corn on the cob handles don’t take up much space at all, so you can easily put them in the same drawer with the rest of your cutlery, making them easy to get at when you need them. If you have a lot of skewers, you may want to get a little recipe box or something similar to keep them in, so you always know where they are when you are cooking corn. You don’t have to put them away when the summer is over either. You can get corn at different times of the year, and you can even get it frozen, so there is no reason why you can’t cook it inside, either by boiling it, or even better, baking it in the oven.
